Common questions

Is the self-assessment free?

Yes, to start. The safety screen, the guided questions, your condition match and your Phase 1 exercise programme are all free. Unlocking Phases 2 onwards — the rest of the exercise progression, the criteria-based check-ins and the full evidence references — is a one-time payment of ₹499. There is no subscription.

Can this replace seeing a physiotherapist?

No, and it does not try to. It is educational guidance, not a diagnosis. It is genuinely useful when you have a common musculoskeletal complaint and want a sensible, evidence-based place to start. It is not a substitute for a hands-on examination, and some things cannot be assessed through a questionnaire at all.

If you would rather be seen in person, book an assessment or call +91 72595 27374.

What happens if my symptoms are serious?

The safety screen runs first, before any exercise is suggested. It looks for red-flag patterns — things like loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle numbness, unexplained weight loss, night pain, significant trauma or progressive neurological weakness. If any of those appear, the assessment stops and tells you to seek in-person care rather than handing you exercises.

How does it decide which exercises to give me?

Your answers are matched against 23 condition protocols written and reviewed by the Kairos physiotherapists, each built from international clinical practice guidelines and landmark randomised trials. The matched protocol is phase-based, and you move to the next phase by meeting clinical criteria — pain settling, range returning, strength milestones — rather than by counting calendar weeks.

How long does it take, and do I need an account?

Most assessments take about five to ten minutes. A region with several guided self-checks can take longer, and you can stop and resume for up to 24 hours. You register with an email address first, so your completed plan is saved across devices.

Does it cover children, or neurological conditions?

Not yet — the current protocols are for adult musculoskeletal complaints. For a child, see paediatric rehabilitation. For stroke, Parkinson's, vertigo or balance problems, see neurological rehabilitation. Both are assessed in person at the clinic.

Important: The following questions help identify symptoms requiring urgent medical attention. Please answer honestly.
Tick any that apply to you
Do any of the following apply to your current condition?
If none of these apply, select the last option and continue.
No urgent red flags detected. Your pain score has been recorded.
One more safety check. Some joint conditions are driven by the immune system rather than mechanics — those need a doctor's tests, not exercise alone. This takes 20 seconds.

We need more information.

Based on your answers, your symptoms don't fit clearly into one pattern — or the combination could point to several conditions that need clinical distinction.

Here are the conditions we'd consider for :

This is not a failure of your answers — some patterns genuinely cannot be separated without someone examining you, and guessing would not be safe. A 30-minute assessment at Kairos Physio will identify it properly. If you rushed a question or skipped a self-check you can go back and change that answer, but please don’t pick something that isn’t true just to get a plan.
