Dry Needling

Fine needles into trigger points for fast release.

Dry needling involves the insertion of thin, solid filiform needles into the skin and underlying tissues to treat chronic pain, muscle tension, and trigger points. It works by eliciting a local muscle twitch response, which reduces pain, improves range of motion, and enhances physical function.

During a session, a physiotherapist targets areas of tight muscle fibres known as trigger points — tender knots often associated with referred pain and restricted movement. The needle stimulates the trigger point, producing a brief twitch that releases the tension. Beyond the local effect, dry needling stimulates the nervous system, promotes healing, and reduces inflammation.

It is effective for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports injuries, and is often combined with exercise therapy to enhance results. Our physiotherapists are certified experts in advanced dry needling procedures, and use it as a complementary tool within a broader rehabilitation plan.
