Dynamic Flex Casting

Flexible casts to manage tone & contractures.

Dynamic Flex Cast, developed by Maria Ferrer, represents a significant advancement in paediatric therapy — a non-invasive treatment to correct the alignment of bones and joints, particularly for children with developmental challenges. It combines alignment, mobility, and functional movement to help children achieve their developmental milestones.

How is this different?

Treating the root cause with skilled precision alignment is the key to our success. It is not enough to simply stretch the ankle and apply a cast — that affects alignment from hindfoot to forefoot. While aligning the joints, the child's entire posture must be observed and improved. Casts are tuned to allow for optimal standing posture and gait improvements, and the child should rarely experience any discomfort. We see improvements with every cast, not only in foot alignment but in whole body posture.

An option to consider before Botox or Surgery

If the foot is not properly aligned in standing, the entire body tries to fix it through compensatory movements. Children with pronated feet often experience a crouched body, arms pushed up in high guard, and impaired balance and coordination. Orthotic appliances can be difficult to fit, skin breaks down, calluses form, deformity worsens, and children face invasive procedures.

Who will benefit?

Cerebral palsy, club foot / relapsing club foot, Charcot-Marie-Tooth, idiopathic toe walking, sensory toe-walking, traumatic brain injury, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, foot deformities, and foot/ankle alignment issues.
